INGREDIENTS:
Chocolate Cake Mix: 1 box (15.25 oz) + ingredients for cake
Oreo Cookies: 1 package (15.5 oz), quartered
Cream Cheese: 8 oz (softened)
Salted Butter: 1/2 cup (softened)
Creamy Peanut Butter: 1/2 cup
Powdered Sugar: 3 1/2 cups
Whipped Topping: 12 oz (divided)
Butterfinger Candy Bars: 8 fun-size bars, chopped
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups: 1 bag (12 oz), chopped
DIRECTIONS:
Prepare Cake:
Preheat oven and prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
Fold in chopped Oreo cookies into the batter.
Bake as directed, adding a few extra minutes if necessary. Let cool completely.
Make Filling:
In a stand mixer, whip together softened cream cheese, butter, and peanut butter until well combined.
Add powdered sugar and beat for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Fold in 8 ounces of the whipped topping.
Assemble Trifle:
Cut the cooled cake into small pieces or cubes.
Layer 1/3 of the cake pieces in the bottom of a trifle dish.
Spoon 1/2 of the cream cheese filling over the cake.
Sprinkle with 1/3 of the chopped peanut butter cups and Butterfinger bars.
Top with 1/2 of the reserved whipped topping.
Repeat the layers: cake, cream cheese filling, candies, and whipped topping.
Finish with the remaining chopped candies on top.
Refrigerate:
Chill until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld.
