Cream Cheese Rangoon Rolls
Cream Cheese Rangoon Rolls are a crispy, golden twist on classic crab rangoon — but shaped like egg rolls for extra crunch and creamy filling in every bite. They’re filled with smooth cream cheese, green onions, and optional crab, then fried (or baked/air-fried) until perfectly crisp on the outside and warm and melty inside.
These are perfect as appetizers, party snacks, or a fun takeout-style treat at home.
Ingredients
For the Filling
8 oz cream cheese, softened
2–3 green onions, finely sliced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup imitation crab meat or real crab (optional), finely chopped
For Assembly
10–12 egg roll wrappers
1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
Oil for frying
Instructions
Make the Filling
In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, soy sauce, sugar, and black pepper.
If using crab, gently fold it in until evenly distributed.
Mix until smooth and creamy.
Assemble the Rolls
Lay an egg roll wrapper on a flat surface in a diamond shape.
Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling in the center.
Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides.
Roll tightly toward the top corner.
Brush the final edge with beaten egg to seal.
Repeat with remaining wrappers.
Fry the Rolls
Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
Carefully add rolls in batches, avoiding overcrowding.
Fry for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
Serve warm.
Baking Option
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Brush rolls lightly with oil.
Bake for 15–18 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
Air Fryer Option
Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly spray rolls with oil.
Air fry for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden.
Dipping Sauce Ideas
• Sweet chili sauce
• Sweet and sour sauce
• Soy sauce with a splash of rice vinegar
• Duck sauce
Storage
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving, as it softens the wrapper.
Cream Cheese Rangoon Rolls deliver everything you love about the classic appetizer — creamy filling, crispy shell, and bold flavor — but in a larger, more satisfying roll. They’re guaranteed to disappear quickly at any gathering.
