French Dip Biscuits
French Dip Biscuits are a warm, savory twist on the classic sandwich, combining flaky biscuits, tender beef, melted cheese, and rich au jus for dipping. They’re perfect as an easy dinner, game-day snack, or hearty appetizer that feels special without much effort.
Ingredients:
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
2 cups cooked roast beef, thinly sliced or shredded
1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup caramelized onions (optional but recommended)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
For the Au Jus:
1 packet au jus gravy mix
2 cups water or beef broth
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Flatten each biscuit slightly using your hands or a rolling pin.
Place a small amount of roast beef in the center of each biscuit. Add caramelized onions if using, then top with shredded cheese.
Fold the biscuit dough around the filling and pinch the seams tightly to seal. Place seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley. Brush generously over the tops of the biscuits.
Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
While the biscuits bake, prepare the au jus by whisking the gravy mix with water or broth in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve the biscuits warm with au jus on the side for dipping.
Helpful Tips:
Leftover pot roast works perfectly for this recipe.
Make sure the biscuit seams are well sealed to prevent cheese from leaking.
For extra flavor, brush the biscuits again with butter right after baking.
Serving Ideas:
Serve with a simple green salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
Cut biscuits in half for party-friendly appetizers.
Add a slice of provolone inside each biscuit for an extra cheesy center.
French Dip Biscuits deliver everything people love about the classic sandwich in a soft, buttery, dunkable bite that’s hard to resist.
