Three-Envelope Roast

Three-Envelope Roast

This classic slow cooker roast is famous for a reason. With just a few pantry packets and minimal prep, you get incredibly tender, flavorful beef with a rich gravy that tastes like it cooked all day — because it did.

Ingredients:
3 to 4 lb beef chuck roast
1 packet ranch seasoning mix
1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix
1 packet brown gravy mix
1 cup water or beef broth

Instructions:
Place the chuck roast in the bottom of the slow cooker.

Sprinkle the ranch seasoning, Italian seasoning, and brown gravy mix evenly over the roast. Do not stir.

Pour the water or beef broth around the sides of the roast.

Cover and cook on LOW for 8 to 10 hours or on HIGH for 5 to 6 hours, until the beef is fall-apart tender.

Gently shred or slice the roast and stir it into the gravy before serving.

Optional Add-Ins:
Add baby potatoes and carrots during the last 4 hours on LOW.
Stir in sliced mushrooms or onions for extra depth.
Finish with a tablespoon of butter for a richer gravy.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve over mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or rice.
Use leftovers for sandwiches or wraps.
Pair with green beans or a simple salad.

Tips:
No need to sear the meat — the slow cooker does the work.
Avoid adding extra salt; the packets provide plenty of seasoning.
Leftovers taste even better the next day.

This three-envelope roast is comfort food at its easiest and most dependable — a true slow cooker classic.
