Puff Pastry Sausage and Cheese
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
1/2 pound sausage meat (pork or beef)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it in half lengthwise.
In a bowl, combine the sausage meat with black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Spread the sausage mixture evenly down the center of each pastry strip. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the sausage.
Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Using a sharp knife, cut each roll into bite-sized pieces or leave whole for slicing after baking.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Serve as an appetizer, snack, or light meal. These pair well with mustard, ketchup, or a cheese dipping sauce.
