Smashing Patty with Confidential Sauce

Ingredients:

For the Smash Patties:
1 pound ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon butter or oil for cooking
4 burger buns
4 slices American or cheddar cheese

For the Confidential Sauce:
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon yellow mustard
1 tablespoon pickle relish
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional Toppings:
Sliced pickles
Thinly sliced onions
Lettuce
Tomato slices

Instructions:

Start by making the confidential sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir until smooth. Cover and refrigerate while you prepare the burgers.

Divide the ground beef into 4 loose balls. Do not overwork the meat. Season the outside lightly with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Heat a heavy skillet or griddle over high heat until very hot. Add butter or oil to coat the surface.

Place a beef ball onto the hot skillet and immediately smash it flat using a spatula or burger press. Press firmly to create a thin patty.

Cook for about 2 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned. Flip once, add a slice of cheese, and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until melted and cooked through.

Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet if desired.

Assemble the burgers by spreading the confidential sauce on both sides of the bun. Add the smash patty, then top with pickles, onions, lettuce, or tomatoes as desired.

Serve immediately while hot and juicy.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve with fries, onion rings, chips, or a simple coleslaw.

Tips for Best Results:
Use high heat to get crispy edges.
Do not press the patty after flipping or you’ll lose juices.
The sauce tastes even better after chilling for 30 minutes.

This smashing patty with confidential sauce delivers crispy edges, juicy beef, and a creamy, tangy sauce that keeps people guessing and coming back for more.
