Pork Chop Supreme
Ingredients:
4 bone-in pork chops
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish and set aside.
Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and black pepper. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the pork chops and sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side until lightly browned. Remove from the skillet and place them in the prepared baking dish.
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until softened and lightly golden. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
In a bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, chicken broth, paprika, and dried thyme. Stir until smooth.
Pour the sauce over the pork chops, spreading it evenly to cover the meat. Top with the cooked onions and garlic.
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the pork chops are tender and fully cooked.
Remove the foil during the last 10 minutes of baking if you prefer a slightly thicker sauce.
Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
