Savory Sausage and Cream Cheese Crescent Bites
These warm, flaky bites are a favorite for gatherings, holidays, game days, or easy breakfasts. They combine browned sausage, creamy cheese, and buttery crescent rolls into a simple but satisfying treat. The filling melts into the layers of dough, creating a soft, savory center with a golden crust. They require only a few ingredients, come together quickly, and always disappear fast from the table.
Ingredients
1 pound breakfast sausage
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional, for extra richness)
A pinch of black pepper
A pinch of garlic powder
Instructions
Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Break it apart as it cooks so the pieces are small and evenly browned. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the softened cream cheese to the warm sausage. Stir until the cheese melts and blends completely. If using cheddar cheese, stir it into the mixture at this stage. Season with black pepper and garlic powder.
Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface. Separate it into triangles or press two triangles together to form rectangles for thicker bites. If using rectangles, cut each one into smaller squares.
Spoon a small amount of sausage filling onto each piece of dough. Fold the dough around the filling and pinch the edges closed. Shape into small bite-sized bundles.
Place the filled bites onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving. The filling will be hot, creamy, and savory.
These crescent bites taste best when served warm, but they also reheat well in the oven or air fryer. They pair nicely with scrambled eggs for breakfast or with dips like ranch for parties. Their flaky layers and creamy center make them a reliable crowd-pleaser every time you prepare them.
