Air fryer beef jerky
Why the Air Fryer is Best
Speed: Get jerky in a fraction of the time compared to dehydrators or ovens.
Even Drying: Hot air circulates perfectly, ensuring every piece dries uniformly.
Convenience: Use your existing air fryer – no special equipment needed, and it’s easy to clean.
Texture: Achieve that ideal chewy bite, often with a slightly crispier edge.
Control: Customize all your flavors and spices exactly how you like them.
How to Make It
Choose Your Beef: Opt for lean cuts like flank steak, top round, or sirloin tip. Trim all fat.
Slice Thin: Partially freeze the beef, then slice it against the grain into 1/8 to 1/4-inch strips.
Marinate: Soak your beef in your favorite marinade (soy sauce, Worcestershire, brown sugar, garlic, onion, and pepper are popular) for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight.
Air Fry: Pat the marinated strips dry. Arrange them in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Cook at a low temperature (160-180°F or 70-80°C) for 3-6 hours, flipping halfway, until dry to your liking.
Cool: Let the jerky cool completely before storing.
Tips for Success
Pat dry your marinated beef before air frying.
Always arrange strips in a single layer to ensure even drying.
