A warm and comforting apple crisp with a cinnamon-spiced crumble topping.
YOU WILL NEED:
6 cups sliced apples (about 5-6 apples)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
For the Topping:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Transfer to a baking dish.
In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
