INGREDIENTS
For the Donuts
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
3-4 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sprinkles or toppings of your choice (optional)
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan with non-stick spray.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and granulated sugar.
In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Spoon the batter into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off. Pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
For the Chocolate Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Dip each cooled donut into the chocolate glaze, allowing any excess glaze to drip off.
Place the glazed donuts back onto the wire rack and decorate with sprinkles or toppings if desired.
Allow the glaze to set before serving.
Enjoy your homemade Chocolate Donuts!
